ONE of Forum 6 Cinemas most popular films ever will receive a send off on March 10.-
While the homegrown Backyard Ashes may have struggled for screen time elsewhere, it has been a hit in Wagga, playing for 15 weeks straight. –
Manager of Forum Cinemas Craig Lucas said the end of the film’s screening will be celebrated with a party-like send off.-
“For the last session we will have drinks and nibbles and Mark (Grentell) and Coxy (Peter Cox) will come down,” he said. –
“All the proceeds from that screening will be donated to Riverina Cancer Care.” –
Mr Lucas said the film had had a dream run in Wagga with everybody enjoying the film. –
“We’ve probably had close to 20,000 admissions.-
“Everyone has really got behind Backyard Ashes, brought friends and relatives and had a good chuckle.” –
Mr Lucas said showing a local Australian film had been an exciting and rare opportunity for Forum Cinemas.-
“It’s been a real breath of fresh air.-
“It’s a special movie, so it needs a special send off.”-
Details for the farewell screening are yet to be confirmed, however the event is expected to start at 7.30pm.
