TRINITY Catholic School Murrumburrah and Holy Trinity School, Curtin ACT have built a ‘sister school’ relationship over the past four years.
Each year the students from Trinity Murrmburrah travel to Holy Trinity, Curtin or vice versa. During the last visit of Holy Trinity, Curtin to Murrumburrah they were treated to a taste of the country life.
The students from Trinity Murrumburrah had worked feverishly leading up to Catholic Schools Week deciding what talents they could put to use in hosting our city cousins.
In the end they displayed ‘rural’ skills such as whip cracking, cattle leading, miniature horse tricks and chicken breeding.
All of the students from both schools enjoyed participating in gum boot throwing, pumpkin rolling and hobby horse relays.
A special part of the day was a presentation of two large bags of sporting equipment.
The Holy Trinity Curtin students had collected an enormous number of Coles vouchers, of which they gave us half.
This generous gift meant that Trinity Murrumburrah students received equipment such as basketballs, footballs, netballs and softball sets that was equivalent to their whole year’s budget!
All of these things combined to provide a jam packed day of learning about life in the country.
