The Dubbo side has dominated the competition in recent seasons and despite a disappointing loss to Cobar earlier this year, Munro’s men again look strong favourites tomorrow if the rain holds off.

Asher Robins and Richie Singh, who were selected for the Western Premier League (WPL) final which has been rescheduled to next Sunday, will confirm their spot in the team to face Parkes if they impress tomorrow while Mat Skinner also returns after not being named in Dubbo’s last Brewery Shield match due to injury.

With a strong side at Munro’s disposal, featuring players from all five Whitney Cup sides, the skipper will fancy his chances of repeating the result from when the sides met in round one of this season’s competition, a match Dubbo won comfortably by eight wickets.

Dubbo bowled out Gilgandra for just 91 on that day and reached the score with ease for the loss of just two wickets.

The main threat for Dubbo will come in the shape of Jon Kilby, with the big Gilgandra quick a genuine wicket taker who is capable of bowling at good pace.

Robins, Singh, Munro, Jacob Hill and Will Wolter will be tasked with scoring the majority of the runs while there is power hitting later in the order in the shape of Skinner and Justin Knudsen.

With the ball, Dan Horrocks will be looking for a repeat of last years’ Brewery Shield final where he took five wickets and he will receive support from Skinner and Zac Murphy while there are plenty of spin options with the likes of Adrian Carey, Stuart Naden, Wolter, Singh and Knudsen all capable of creating pressure and taking wickets.

After rain ruined Dubbo’s chances of claiming the title in 2009-10 against Bourke, they claimed three impressive wins in the three following seasons and Munro will be determined to lead the side to further glory tomorrow.

The Brewery Shield final begins tomorrow begins at 10am.

o Dubbo team: Nathan Munro (c), Asher Robins, Dan French, Jacob Hill, Will Wolter, Richie Singh, Mat Skinner, Justin Knudsen, Stuart Naden, Dan Horrocks, Zac Murphy, Adrian Carey.
