BUYERS are showing keen interest in a land release at Kelso.
CHEVIOT DRIVE: Jay Cleary at Bathurst Real Estate’s land sale at Kelso. 022614pjay
The land, Cheviot Drive, off Hughes Street, is listed exclusively with Bathurst Real Estate, with agent Jay Cleary expecting the blocks to sell quickly.
Mr Cleary said there were eight lots up for sale, but since they were put on the market this week one lot has already been sold.
“We’ve had a lot of interest in the blocks, I’ve taken a lot of calls.
“One block is already under offer,” he said.
Mr Cleary said he wasn’t at all surprised by the level of interest shown in the land, given there is a shortage of vacant blocks in the city.
He said one of the main attractions about the release was people could chose which block they wanted, and weren’t forced to take a chance in a ballot system.
“You get to chose the block you want, which is a real selling point,” he said.
He said the land varies in size from 650 square metres to more than 1000 square metres, with prices starting at $185,000.
He said the price represented good value.
Mr Cleary said the blocks have great aspects and cater for a range of homes.
“Some of the blocks are very flat, some of them have slopes. The blocks should cater for just about everyone, no matter what type of house they want to build,” he said.
Mr Cleary said Bathurst Real Estate were the exclusive agents for the blocks but urged interested buyers to get in quickly.
“We’ve had a very strong response since they went on the market. But I’m not surprised because there isn’t a lot of land available,“ he said.
