A SEVEN-month jail sentence was handed out on Tuesday last week in Merredin Magistrate’s Court to a disqualified driver who crashed his unregistered car causing property damage and failed to report it.

Alan Richard Pearse was jailed and disqualified from driving for a further nine months after being found guilty of driving while disqualified by a court.

He was also fined $200 for failing to report an accident and a further $200 for driving an unlicensed vehicle. He was also ordered to pay a penalty of $164.10.

Three drivers were convicted of drink driving offences.

Trevor Nathan Tibbits had his licence suspended for eight months and was fined $650 and ordered to pay $146.90 costs for exceeding .08; Paul Douglas Ward’s licence was also suspended for eight months and he was fined $600 and ordered to pay $146.90 costs and Jacob Matthew McGlynn had his licence suspended for three months, was fined $400 and ordered to pay $146.90 costs for driving with a blood alcohol content more than zero while on a learners permit.

Leeane Fitzgerald was fined $700 and ordered to pay $146.90 penalty and $192.50 costs for driving an unlicensed vehicle and not ensuring a passenger under four years was restrained.

Bradley John Price was convicted of two counts of driving while under suspension. He was fined a total of $800 and ordered to pay $293.80 costs.

Sara Kaylene Garcia-Zoiti was convicted in her absence of driving while under fines suspension and fined $600 with $146.90 costs. Four other drivers, Caitylyn Marree Beggs, Bruce James Dalgetty, Wendy Hayden and Cameron Jason Wright, were each fined $200 and ordered to pay $146.90 costs for driving while under suspension.

Kenneth Riley was fined $175 and ordered to pay $72.60 penalty and $146.90 costs for being the owner/driver of an unlicensed vehicle, while Alison Louise Holt was fined $150, with $174.50 penalty and $146.90 costs and Luke Gregory Johnson was fined $175, with $217.20 penalty and $146.90 costs for the same offence.

Danny William Briggs admitted driving contrary to the conditions of his learner’s permit and was fined $150 with $146.90 costs while Erin Louise Cole was fined $200 with $107.35 penalty and $146.90 costs for permitting use of an unlicensed vehicle.

Christopher John Lewis was fined $125 with $174.50 penalty and $146.90 costs and Erin Michelle Stevens was fined $125 with $145.20 penalty and $146.90 costs as owners/drivers of unlicensed vehicles, while Mervyn Joseph Patrick Menz was fined $200 with $14.88 penalty and $146.90 costs for driving an unlicensed vehicle.

Marjorie Buffy Poata pleaded guilty to exceeding the speed limit in a speed zone and driving while not entitled to do so.

Her licence was suspended for three months and she was fined $500 with $146.90 costs.

Bruce William Salter was fined $300 with $146.90 costs for allowing a number plate to be used Michal Ryszard Swidzinski was fined a total of $325 with $138.45 penalty of and $146.90 costs for driving with an expired licence and being owner/driver of an unlicensed vehicle.

Albie Claude Hayden was given eight-months jail, suspended for 18 months, and ordered to pay $146.90 costs on three charges of wilfully destroying or damaging property and making threats.

Helen Elizabeth Dobie pleaded guilty to possessing drug paraphernalia and was fined $250 with costs of $146.90.

Three drivers were convicted of drink driving offences.
